Home made, Bent Shaft Canoe Paddles
Paddle maker Lee Dybvig returns to share his tips on constructing modern, functional, wood, bent shaft canoe paddles. Using tools in his home wood shop, glue and clamps. Lee taught himself the art of paddle making. "My paddles are designed to be used as paddles, some look better then others but they are all made to go in the water".
Lee will show everything you need to know to make your own paddle; picking the wood, the glue, the clamping set-up, and the finishing.
Lee will have a full display of paddles in the progress of being made. Meet Lee in Robinson Park on Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 3:00 till 6:00
Lee Dybvig is a retired social worker. He has also been a volunteer fireman, Boy Scout leader, and BWCA canoe guide. Lee stays busy building things and volunteering his time.
